Louis Blue for my bedroom

I finally finished this dresser!  It's been in my garage for far to long.  I had to battle the top three times before I got the look I wanted.  Stain and learn I guess, stain and learn.  ;)  I should have taken pictures of all the horrible tops and documented my mistakes.  Ah well.  So here is the before in all it's glory.  Yikes, right?

I loved the curves and legs though and knew some paint would make this special.

Ignore those unsightly cords, please!! lol  Oh, and the TV.  I dry brushed the body in ASCP in Louis Blue then went over it on old White knowing that when I distressed it I wanted some of the blue peeking through.  The drawers I painted in reverse.  A little clear wax and some buffing and I was more than happy to call this done!

The picture makes the top look almost ebony but it's not.  The first coat was a deep mahogany with poly but it looked too red to me, so the second coat I added dark walnut to the mix and BAM, perfection!

Love those legs!

The dresser adds a lot of life to my master bedroom!  I had thought about adding some dark wax to areas to give it more depth and age, but I can't lie,  I'm scared!  What if it looks horrible?  What if I used to much?  Do you think I should try? think it would look good, or leave it as is? Maybe I should start a dark wax support group.
